Rio Grande Enrichment Studies offers a Traditional, Tutorial, Christian education for grades 3-12. Our emphasis is learning to reason and reflect from a Biblical perspective and from the foundational Biblical principles of each subject.
RGES is a homeschool tutorial service designed to serve homeschool families in Albuquerque and the surrounding areas with one day per week classes in a variety of subjects.

High School Core Class Exams
May 24 9 am. Literature Exam
May 26 9 am. Science exam, 1 pm. History Exam
Make-up Exams Date: June 2 at 9 am.
All exams are given at the regular classrooms in Building D at Hoffmantown Church
Up-Coming & On-going Events in the RGES Program:
Registration for our 2016-2017 classes. Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis and begins on the dates listed below. Please download the registration form, complete the needed information, and include the registration fee plus the materials fees needed for each class in your check made payable to "RGES". Regular tuition payments for the classes begin June 1, 2016. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can always call RGES at 323-8439 with any registration or curriculum questions.
Please join us for the May 20 or June 20 High School Information Nights where Mr. Kinzer will meet with all interested parents considering hiomeschooling for their high school student. We will discuss graduation requirements in the state of NM, the required subjects for high school, as well as the courses and curriculum offered by RGES to assist parents in their homeschooling. Both meetings are 7 - 8:30 pm. with the May meeting at Hoffmantown Church (meeting the lobby) and the June meeting at Faith Church in Rio Rancho (900 Southern Blvd.) Invite a friend and come with your questions.
Homeschool Family Fieldtrip June 25, 2016 | 9:30 am - 4:30 pm.
John Kinzer offers a fieldtrip to Homeschool families and students ages 10 and up through RGES on June 25th. Families provide their own transportation and Mr. Kinzer leads the fieldtrip with 6 stops to Bandera Crater and Ice Caves near Grants, NM. This is one of the best examples of a cinder cone in the US. The Ice Cave is one of only two places on the continent where ice caves are found. There is an entrance fee of $10 for adults and $5 for persons 5-12 years at the Ice Caves. Mr. Kinzer's extra stops, rock collecting, etc. are free. For more information, contact RGES at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a flyer for the trip or call RGES at 323-8439.
On April 29th and on May 6th the RGES Choir "Broadway Night" performances took place. They were spectacular - a fine job for our students! Thank you to Mrs. Mouchet and to Mrs. Skaggs who have worked hard all year to teach and make this possible! God bless you, students and families.
The RGES End of the Year Ceremony for all students and families was May 14th, and we thank all our students and teachers for a fine year. Special congratulations go to Dr. Mark Burton, winner of the "Lynn Miller New Mexico Homeschooling Award". Congratulations go to senior Kyle Craft who received the "RGES Leadership Award" for his leadership both as President of the High School classes and for his behind the scenes efforts in leading and serving the students. There was much to celebrate and thank the Lord for the achievement of our students!
RGES True Hawks, "Defenders of the Truth", Chess Team
Coach Oren Stevens & Parent Supervisor Trisha Morris organized the True Hawks Chess team in January. We congratulate the True Hawks and Marcus Morris for their first trophy in March at the Albuquerque Chess Tournament! 2016 RGES Play - Robin Hood. We enjoyed the five performances of sword play, archery, refreshments, and fine acting from our cast of RGES students, the Merely Players. The play was enjoyable and fun for all. Thanks again to our students and to Mrs. Turner!
The CAPE-NM Convention was April 14-16, 2016. We are blessed to be a part of and involved with the fine CAPE organization since April 1991. Thanks to all of you who made an effort to promote Christian homeschooling in NM!
